SWPP Gold Awards June 2008

This month I submitted only 4 images due to time restraints. Again I managed to bag another Gold, this time in the Landscape departement. There were 1750 images entered in 22 categories in total and only 88 of them got the so sought after Gold.

I feel that the standard to achieve a Gold award is rising by the minute and only the very best images will be awarded.

My three other images all got Silver, reason enough for some other photographers to be over the moon, for me though it was a bit disappointing as I set my goals high.

It still amazes me again and again what an incredible good place Caithness is to spot wildlife. Even when you dont specifically intend to go out to watch creatures, you will always come across of some species.

I love seals and there is some good places to spot them up here. They seem to be very curious and litle shy. With a long lens you will get the best shots of them though.
